ane. A graphical method is described for separating two superimposed normal curves of differing dispersions but like means. 2. The method was successfully used on field data on the movements of freshwater fish. iii. An example is given using hypothetical data where the built-in parameters of means, standard deviations and ratio of population sizes of the superimposed distributions were: 25 and thirty, two and 15, 1: 2 respectively. Using the method described these were estimated every bit: 23.nine and 30.1, 2 and 15, ane: i.125.
